Waverley is unique. She is the last sea-going paddle steamer anywhere in the world. This newly updated documentary, released in August 2024 is an informative guided tour of the Isle of Wight’s coastline aboard the paddler.

The spectacular Needles and its lighthouse, the towering cliffs of Tennyson Down and St Catherine’s point; Waverley steams on past Ventnor, Bonchurch, Shanklin and Sandown on her way back to Yarmouth, passing Osborne Bay – with views of Osborne House – and the world- famous waterfront of Cowes.

Waverley’s Round the Island sailings take place only in September of each year. This is a rare recording of a special sailing aboard a unique ship. The DVD Includes archive footage of PS Kingswear Castle, PS Embassy and MV Balmoral.

Also included are visits to a number of Island visitor attractions- the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Ventnor Botanic Garden, Shanklin Chine and Farringford Garden
Written and presented by Chris Phillips, filmed and edited by award-winning director David Ellery, with original music by Jonathan Cohen.
